Why will the stainless steel mesh belt break after a period use?

Stainless steel mesh belts generally split initially after 8 weeks of operation due to nitriding and carbonization.

Taking the traditional 314 stainless steel mesh belt as an example, it is usually conditioned and preheated first, that is, it is switched to N2-3%H2 after 28 hours of operation under normal conditions in the active air at 870 ° C, and then held at temperature for 2 hours, and then gradually heated to 1120 ° C within 14 hours and held at temperature for 8 hours, and then initially sintered parts. At this point, the air contains about 3ppm of oxygen, and the dew point is about -55 ° C. (i.e. containing about 20ppm of water vapor). But after about eight weeks, the band initially split. This is because the thin chromium oxide layer of the stainless steel surface is oxidized in the preheating zone, and becomes restorative after entering the high temperature zone, so the surface oxide is recovered, but after entering the cooling zone, although the air is the same, but because the temperature is reduced, it changes back to oxidation, so that the mesh belt is reoxidized, this oxidation and recovery cycle will cause damage to the data.

In addition, the stainless steel mesh belt in the high temperature zone due to parts of the graphite and lubricant decomposition and CO, resulting in carburizing, the CO and stainless steel mesh belt in the Cr reaction to produce chromium carbide, and nitrogen in the air will also react with chromium into chromium nitride, the two compounds are hard and brittle compounds, making the stainless steel mesh belt life shrink.
